We are pleased to announce that the EMBO |COB Workshop “Molecular mechanisms of developmental and regenerative biology” will be held on November 6 to 8, 2024 at RIKEN Center for Biosystems Dynamics Research (BDR), Kobe, Japan. This workshop will focus on the fundamentals of vertebrate development and regeneration. Sessions will include topics on early development, pluripotency, organoids and tissue stem cell function, germline specification and regeneration. The overarching theme is understanding of how cell identity is specified, maintained and re-specified. These fast-moving fields are being driven by innovations in quantitative methodologies, super-resolution microscopy and single-cell omics. Examples include the utility of single-cell multi-omics analyses to reveal complex intercellular interactions driving tissue maturation in embryos, stem cell-based embryo models and organoids, and delineating the biophysical parameters affecting transcription factor-chromatin interactions and cell state changes. Recent major advances will be covered at the workshop, including recent insights into in vitro germ cell differentiation, the species-specificity of germ cell development and the adaptability of developmental mechanisms in regeneration. Understanding the underlying mechanisms at play will offer unique insights that could be exploited for regenerative medicine. This high-profile workshop will advance research in developmental and regenerative biology by enhancing intellectual interactions and engendering collaborations, particularly at the interface of research disciplines. We encourage the submission of abstracts for the poster session for a lively and informative exchange of views. A small number of poster abstracts will be selected for oral presentations. We look forward to your participation. <OUTLINE> URL: https://meetings.embo.org/event/24-dev-biology Date: November 6 (Wednesday) – 8 (Friday), 2024 Venue: Kobe Campus, RIKEN Center for Biosystems Dynamics Research Registration fee:
