[Challenges by diverse younger experts worldwide] International Conference on Science and Technology for Sustainability 2024 - Ecosystem for Sustainable Innovation: Toward Sustainable Science and Society in 2040 The international conference above will be held in a hybrid format (at the Auditorium of Science Council of Japan and Online) on Monday, 3 February (Setsubun Day) from 13:00 to 17:30. Children can attend the conference when accompanied by a parent or guardian and nursery service is available. This international conference is based on an advisory opinion “Remodeling science and society for the next 20 years: Ten recommendations from Young Academy of Japan” https://www.scj.go.jp/ja/info/kohyo/pdf/kohyo-25-k230926-4en.pdf (The Young Academy of Japan, 2023). With the catchphrase ‘Challenges to ‘problems that hinder innovation creation’ by a diverse group of younger experts worldwide!’, young experts from Australia, Canada, China, India, South Korea and Singapore, as well as from the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) will get together with young Japanese experts. This symposium will discuss issues and potential solutions for the ecosystem for sustainable innovation with young researchers, government, industry and the public worldwide, focusing on international similarities and differences. There are various ways to participate, including simultaneous interpretation between Japanese and English, nursery service, attendance with children and online participation. In addition to the strong expectation of participation by younger experts (middle, high school, undergraduate and graduate students, young researchers such as postdoctoral fellows, etc.), participation by all generations who will support the challenges of younger experts is also welcome. ↓ See here for registration ↓ ◆Click below to register for “in-person” participation (registration required, free of charge (*), limited to 150 people) ◆Click below to register for “online” participation (registration required, free of charge, limited to 450 people)
