Dr. Kenneth E. Bernstein has an immediate opening for a Postdoctoral Fellow to study the role of Angiotensin Converting Enzyme (ACE) in the immune function of myeloid cells (reviewed in PMID: 35182689). Increased ACE expression in myeloid cells (macrophages and neutrophils) significantly increases myeloid cell metabolism (oxidative metabolism) and immune function. This position is to help identify the ACE peptide product that causes the ACE mediated effects on myeloid cells. This should identify a new means of stimulating myeloid cell function. The successful candidate will have either a Ph.D. or M.D. degree and will have some experience working with peptides and peptide biochemistry. Some experience with HPLC is also requested. The state of California has set minimum salary requirements that apply to postdoctoral fellows beginning each January 1. These are: $62,400 in 2022 and $66,560 in 2023. Please respond to Ken Bernstein by email at: kbernst[at]cshs.org |
